The events of 2020 couldn’t have been more unexpected. Your dedication and grit inspired us.

Bakpax grew and changed to adapt to the new environment of virtual and hybrid learning. Your input has helped us shape Bakpax into an e-learning hub for teachers and students. We’ve been honored to grow with you!

Whether you recently joined the Bakpax community, or have been with us for a while, we thank you for taking this journey with us.

Here are some of the most popular and notable launches from 2020.

11 of Our Most Loved Launches in 2020

#1 – Bakpax Magic! Service

Have you experienced the Magic! of Bakpax? Early in 2020, we launched the Magic! content service, where the Bakpax Team can import your assignments to Bakpax for you. Simply email your assignments and answer keys to content@bakpax.com, and get ready for our team to work their Magic!

#2 – Student Online Submissions

Bakpax makes it easy for students to complete assignments 100% online from any device. Online submissions give students the flexibility to:

  • type their answers with the text or math keyboards,
  • take a picture of their handwritten answer,
  • or draw their answer directly on their device.

#3 – Discover Content Library – Free Assignments

To help teachers save time creating and finding content, we launched the Discover Content Library, where teachers can find and share editable, autogradable, assignments across any subject and grade level.

Along with hundreds of standards-aligned worksheets, our content team released six entire textbooks of assignments from Illustrative Mathematics.

#4 – Students Can Retry Assignments

If their teacher has allowed it, students can retry their incorrect answers and get instant feedback. This was a highly requested feature from teachers. See it in action here:

#5 – Submission Windows & Late Work

Another feature teachers asked us for was the ability to allow late work and submission windows. You ask for it, we build it!

#6 – More Question Types

Bakpax now has four question types:

  • Blank Question: Students are required to write a text or mathematical answer in an answer box.
  • Multiple Choice: Students are provided with a list of options and must select the correct option.
  • True or False: Students determine if the information is true or false.
  • Draw on Image: Students write and draw on an image, such as a graph or diagram.

Plus, you can now add images to any question or instruction in your assignment!

#7 – Bakpax Reads Handwriting on Anything

One of our favorite feature launches in 2020 is the ability for students to submit a picture of their answer written on anything. Whether the answer is written on a piece of paper, a napkin, a whiteboard, the back of their hand – Bakpax can read and grade it!

#8 – Export Grades to a CSV

Now, you can export your students’ results to a CSV file, which you can upload to your grade book or LMS of choice.

#9 – Google Classroom Integrations

This year, Bakpax became a Google for Education Partner. As part of this partnership, we developed many integrations with Google Classroom.

Teachers can now import their Google classrooms and student rosters to Bakpax, as well as push Bakpax assignments to Google Classroom.

You can look forward to more integrations with Google in 2021!

#10 – Autosave Student Progress

We received many requests from students to build a feature to save their assignment progress when completing an assignment online. Our favorite request was to “make Bakpax save like Minecraft.”

We’re happy to say that Bakpax can now save student progress, allowing them to leave an assignment and return to it at a later time.

#11 – Webinars

We introduced live webinars to help teachers get started with Bakpax, and there’s more to come in 2021! All registrants receive a recording of the webinar after it’s finished, so they can review it at any time.

Click here to check out our upcoming webinars and to register for one. We look forward to seeing you there!

And a Bonus – Bakpax is Staying Free for Teachers and Students!

We decided to make Bakpax free in April of 2020, in order to help as much as we could during the pandemic. And we have more good news!

We’re keeping it free for teachers and students! Click here to read the announcement letter from our CEO, Jose Ferreira.

Looking Ahead

Thanks again for all of your valuable feedback the past year. We couldn’t have done it without you.
